A Softer Take on Colour for 2016

“Joined together, Rose Quartz and Serenity demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace.” Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director at Pantone Colour Institute

Those words couldn’t help but inspire this week’s blog entry! Tranquil; Wellness; Soothing; Peace…all very relevant when planning your wedding day so we simply had to take a closer look and see how some of our Quello staples could tie into such a unique colour sheme.

With its delicate applique lace and soft blush pink skirt, “501” by Rita Mae effortlessly combines romance and ‘serenity.’  A classic tea length gown with delicate lace detail to the neckline and hemline as well as a gently beaded belt to the waist. “Rose Quartz is a persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure.” (www.pantone.com) With these words, this gown couldn’t be more fitting.

“Serenity is weightless and airy, like the expanse of the blue sky above us, bringing feelings of respite and relaxation…” (www.pantone.com) For something ‘weightless and airy’ what could be more appropriate than beautifully highlighting your bridal hair style with a delicate hair comb such as “Brindley” by Miranda  Templeton. With gently wired pearls and crystals, it perfectly ties in to an elegant yet relaxed bridal look.

Introducing colour into your wedding day is a way to express yours and your husband-to-be’s individual personalities and interests. We love how Rose Quartz and Serentity seamlessly join together and challenge the traditional perceptions of colour association.
