How To Create a Classic Autumn
Warm fires, cozy jumpers, colourful leaves and fireworks – Autumn is such a beautiful time of the year and a wonferful season to celebrate your wedding! Here are a few of our tips to help inspire you to create a classic, warm autumnal wedding.
The season is all about colour: the reds, burnt yellows, rusty browns of the falling leaves and the bright orange of the pumpkins can be made even more sophisticated by adding touches of metallic bronzes and golds!
For your stationary, the first glimpse of your wedding that your guests get to see, choose designs which depict leaves, trees, pinecones or even fruit such as apples. We love the simple yet effective idea above, of cutting out leaf shapes from autumnal coloured card and decorating your invitations and favours with them! Or make your Autumn themed stationary more subtle by using materials like hessian, twine and brown paper for a more rustic look.
We think “Evita” by Alan Hannah is the perfect bridal look for your Autumn wedding. A beautifully cut ivory gown in a sumptuous Thai silk; and elegant across the shoulder neckline which opens up to reveal a dramatic low back; offering just enough coverage for the crisp Autumn chill, with an air of chic elegance. For your bridemaids, choose rich coloured dresses in maroons, chocolate browns and plum purples or if you prefer lighter shades, creams and golds also look stunning during this season.
As for your Autumn themed wedding flowers, these are easy to create using classic blooms like roses, calla lilies, gerberas and dahlias in those deep reds, oranges, yellows and with added woodland details such as twigs, acorns, leaves and even natural grasses and barley. Adding fruit and berries to your bouquet is on trend this year too; try blackberries and rosehips for that rustic Autumn accent.
To complete your bridal look, team the stunning “Evita” (just look at that back!) with the soft and luxurious “Streisand” stole by Sasso Bridal in pearl, to keep the Autumn chill at bay whilst outside, having your wedding photographs taken and adorn your hair with the “Corringham” headband by Miranda Templeton; perfect with its diamante and pearl encrusted leaf motif.
The “Evita” gown, “Streisand” stole and “Corringham” headband are all available to try on in the boutique.
